Jackson City Council members are expected to sign off on the city’s $26.2 million road resurfacing plan at a meeting today.
The plan calls for roadwork on about 130 roads spread throughout all seven wards. It includes work on West Street, Ridgewood Road, Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Old Canton Road.
The road plan has been in the works for months, and the council issued the bond in December. The city has hired two engineering firms to oversee the project.
“When they get done, streets in the city are really going to look good,” Councilman Charles Tillman said.
