But Pogue does have a definitive answer for those who would charge that he favors any school over another school when it comes to the recruitment of his players.
“That’s the furthest thing from the truth,” Pogue says. “I’ve got players playing at Nebraska, Memphis, Southern Miss, Ole Miss, UAB and now I’ve got two who have committed to Mississippi State. Personally, I have degrees from Holmes Community College and Delta State, and I am proud of both.
“But I don’t have an allegiance to Mississippi State or Ole Miss. My only allegiance is to these 17- and 18-year-old kids. My main goal is for one of my guys to go where he can get an education, play football and be happy.”
