The Senators trying to fix college sports will introduce a bipartisan bill designed to break a Congressional logjam that would regulate payments to players, limit them to one “free” transfer over their careers and create a “Lane Kiffin Rule” to restrict coach movement during the season.

Now in its second year with an expanded bracket, 12 teams will make the College Football Playoff to close out the 2025-26 season.

The settlement would clear the way for each school to begin sharing up to $20.5 million with their athletes.
