Voter ID is now, dead. That statement doesn’t surprise me much. What does surprise me is saying that it was killed by Republicans in the Senate.

Also going through the Senate chamber is a bill that may not be dead, but is on life support. That bill is Senate Resolution 615 which would force Haley Barbour to accept all of the funds from the federal stimulus bill. While the House was able to pass a similar resolution on the back of the Democrat majority, the Senate has had little luck.

The Senate resolution has been stalled in committee. Phil Bryant, who presides over the Senate, opposes the resolution. A group of 11 Democrat Senators are trying to encourage the Senate leadership to take on the bill, but without more support don’t look for their message to make it any further.
