Big 12: The South still rules

An old story line brews fresh in the Big 12.
The South rules.

That point was driven home Saturday, when the North’s top teams — Missouri and Kansas — were battered by the league’s traditional big boys, Texas and Oklahoma.
The Longhorns embarrassed Mizzou, rolling to a 35-3 lead on their way to a comfortable 56-31 rout.
“They came out and proved why they’re the No. 1 team in the nation,” said Tigers quarterback Chase Daniel.

Texas also exposed the gap between two teams that many felt could — and still may, since somebody must represent the league’s other half — meet in the league title game.
