Hood, Hopkins trade barbs at luncheon

By: Magnolia Tribune - September 25, 2007

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal, 9/25/7

Al Hopkins, the Republican candidate for attorney general, came out swinging Monday, saying he believes Democratic incumbent Jim Hood is engaged in illegal activity.

But Hood defended his record and criticized Hopkins for “padding his resume” during the campaign and lacking the experience to be the state’s top prosecuting attorney.

The exchange came during one of a series of political forums hosted in Jackson by the Mississippi State Stennis Institute/capitol press corps.
