Ag commissioner candidates face a variety of challenges

The Department of Agriculture and Commerce touches every Mississippian’s life far more than many assume, and the next commissioner of agriculture and commerce faces a variety of challenges.

The commissioner will among other things help protect consumers from harmful imports, help a farm industry hurting under high production costs and potentially promote Mississippi’s economic viability around the world.
