Bulldogs get early ’09 start

STARKVILLE — When Mississippi State players jog onto the practice field around 3:15 this afternoon, they’ll be starting practice ahead of some of their fellow Southeastern Conference schools by a day.
Some, they’ll be beating by a few days. And that “school up North,” as coach Dan Mullen refers to Ole Miss? They’ll have them beat by a week.
For Mullen’s first preseason, the Bulldogs are getting a head start.
“I believe it’ll work out for us because we’ve got a new coach and got a lot of learning to do,” junior linebacker K.J. Wright said.
