Nutt refuses to let SEC skid flatten team
OXFORD — When a haggard Houston Nutt took his place at the podium on Saturday night to discuss Ole Miss’ deflating loss to Vanderbilt, it was easy to see that his first conference setback as the Rebels’ head coach had taken a toll.
But don’t feel too sorry for him just yet. After all, the players and fans are feeling the same type of pain – times nine.
In a new level of ineptitude, Ole Miss has now lost nine straight Southeastern Conference games, which is the most in the school’s 76-year history with the conference. It eclipses the old mark of eight straight losses last set in 1982-83 under coach Steve Sloan.
