Ole Miss tackle may return for Wake Forest game
OXFORD — Ole Miss defensive tackle Peria Jerry has returned to practice and could play in Saturday’s game against Wake Forest.
Jerry, a preseason All-Southeastern Conference second-team selection, had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Aug. 18 to repair torn cartilage.
“He joined us yesterday for the first time in a long time at practice,” Nutt said. “ … We’re hoping. We don’t know. He’s not 100 percent, but maybe by the end of the week he can give us a few snaps.”
Jerry, a senior from Batesville, was sixth in the SEC last season with 14 tackles for a loss and also had 3.5 sacks, but suffered through an injury-plagued preseason camp.
