GREGG ELLIS:Can the Bulldogs better their 2007 campaign?
STARKVILLE – It’s no longer months. Not even weeks. The clock now is down to days.
Of course, we’re talking about the start of college football.
It’s game week, and it’s also time to take a look at Mississippi State’s schedule.
Can the Bulldogs finish above .500 again? Better their 2007 campaign?
Well, let’s take a look.
Louisiana Tech: This should be a win. The Bulldogs lost 10 starters from a team that managed just five wins a year ago, and their defense was terrible. They gave up lots of yards and points. Five times, they allowed 40-plus points. But remember, this game is in Ruston and MSU will be without All-SEC safety Derek Pegues. Still, it’s a W, 38-13 (1-0).
Southeastern Louisiana: If ever there was a gimme, this is it. The Lions were horrible last year and their outlook doesn’t appear to be much brighter. W, 45-7 (2-0).
