STATE LEGISLATORS TALK EDUCATION AT TOWN HALL
The Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce Education Committee organized the meeting. State legislators were there at the Courtyard Marriott from 5:30 until 7 p.m. taking questions. Chuck Younger, Jeff Smith, Angela Turner-Ford, Gary Chism, Kabir Karriem, and newest representative Cheikh Taylor were there.
Some questions from the audience included how to improve the quality of education in Mississippi, parental involvement and teacher pay. Several hundred people also watched the event live on Facebook.
