Dynasties thrive on campaign staffs
On the Republican side, Bush in late September hired Austin Barbour, the nephew of former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, who joined Bush’s campaign after running a super PAC supporting former Texas Gov. Rick Perry. As a senior adviser, Barbour works on fundraising, strategy and organization for the March 1 primaries in the South. He joined Bush after the most recent campaign finance filing, so his salary is unclear. He declined to comment.
