Entergy may cut rates in spring

This winter’s unseasonably warm weather could mean lower power bills for Entergy Mississippi customers this spring.

The utility has submitted its quarterly fuel adjustment proposal to the state Public Service Commission.

If approved, a residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt hours per month would pay $90.60 effective April 1, the start of the second quarter of the year.

That’s $4.50 less than the average residential bill paid in March, the utility says. It’s also $2.61 less than the average bill paid during the second quarter of 2011.
