$19M hospital groundbreaking Dec. 15

Ground will be broken next week on a new $19 million Neshoba County hospital, although actual construction bids aren’t expected to be let for months.

The public is invited to attend the ceremonial event on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m., on the south side of the hospital near the heliport.

Bids are currently being received until Jan. 5 at 2 p.m., for site development.

The bid letting for actual construction has not been set, said Neshoba County General Hospital Administrator Lonnie Graeber.

The new 29-bed hospital will be funded with $14.7 million in cash reserves and a $4 million CAP loan through the Mississippi Development Authority, Graeber said.
