Childers still unwilling to host town hall
U.S. Rep. Travis Childers said Tuesday that he has no immediate plans to hold any town hall meetings in his district on the nation’s health care crisis.
In the same breath, Childers said he is willing to sit down and talk with protesters who picketed outside his Hernando office Saturday. A small but vocal group held up signs outside his Hernando office protesting the Obama Administration’s health care plan.
Childers has been criticized of late for not holding a town hall meeting on health care in the First Congressional District.
Similar town hall meetings in Maryland and other states have erupted into chaos while other public forums have been conducted without disruption.
