All the elements seem to be in place for Mississippi, part of that solid South for Republicans in national elections, to follow Georgia, Texas and others and become a GOP-dominated state.
After all, Mississippi already has a politically strong Republican governor running for re-election with more money that only a short time ago would have been viewed as unimaginable to raise.
Could this be the election where – led by Gov. Haley Barbour – Republicans gain complete and total control of Mississippi state government as in Texas and Georgia?
