Palazzo Named Conferee for Homeland Security Appropriations Bill

By: Sarah Ulmer - January 29, 2019

Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-4), member of the House Appropriations Committee issued the following statement after being selected by House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) and House Appropriations Ranking Members Kay Granger (TX-12) to serve on the Conference Committee that will negotiate the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations bill.

“I am honored to be selected by the Republican leadership to serve as a member of the conference committee. As the former Vice Chairman for the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Appropriations, I am proud to be part of this select group that will come together to negotiate this vital legislation. It is imperative that we remember our obligation to deliver on our promise to provide for the common defense of this nation. I look forward to fulfilling that commitment through bipartisan efforts in the coming weeks and ensuring we put forth a sound bill that invests in smarter, more robust border security.”

In addition to Palazzo, the nine other House conferees are as follows: Pete Aguilar (CA-31), Henry Cuellar (TX-28), Fleischmann (TN-3), Kay Granger (TX-12), Tom Graves (GA-14), Barbara Lee (CA-13), Nita Lowey (NY-17), David Price (NC-4), and Lucille Roybal-Allard (NY-17).
