The schedule has been set for Legislative budget hearings, and it looks to be packed into one day.
Meetings begin on Monday, Sept. 17 at 9:00 a.m. with an Economic Update, moving to a presentation by the Public Employee’s Retirement System and then words from the Mississippi Department of Corrections. In the afternoon they move on to the Department of Education, Dept. of Public Safety, Medicaid and CPS.

US and China take a step back from sky-high tariffs, agree to pause for 90 days
The U.S. has agreed to drop its 145% tariff rate on Chinese goods by 115 percentage points to 30%, while China has agreed to lower its rate on U.S. goods by the same amount to 10%.
