
Tuesday’s runoff election left Mississippi with two individuals who would advance on their party’s ticket in the U.S. Senate and Third Congressional District races.

For the #mssen election, Democrat David Baria turned the tables on opponent Howard Sherman, who had previously won the primary. Baria pulled out 58.5% of the vote, a good bit ahead of his opponent at 41.5%.
For the #ms03 race, current District Attorney for Madison and Rankin Counties, Michael Guest took the win with 65.10% of the vote over his opponent Whit Hughes who pulled in 34.90%.

These two will now head to the election in November. Guest will go up against Democrat Representative Michael Ted Evans and Baria will face incumbent Senator Roger Wicker.
