DuPree appointed to Democratic Convention Rules Committee

The Democratic National Committee has appointed Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree to the 2016 Democratic National Convention Rules Committee.

“As a member of the Rules Committee, Mayor DuPree will have the unique opportunity to lay the groundwork to ensure that the 2016 Democratic Convention sends our nominee to the victory this November,” said U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.

The Rules Committee’s responsibilities include issuing a report to the convention that recommends the agenda and the procedural rules under which the convention will operate and nominating the permanent officers of the convention.
