Longwitz – ‘Thad’ post-card handwritten, no misleading intentions
I am writing to correct some things that have been written about me and my supporter, Thad McLaurin, regarding a postcard (“Longwitz gets on Thad’s wrong side,” and “Playing the ‘Thad’ Card,” Blognotes, Aug. 14).
A few dozen dedicated volunteers took the time to hand-write postcards for me. Thad was one of those volunteers, and he sent out a few dozen.
It has been suggested that these were computer generated. Nothing could be further from the truth.
It has been implied we intended to mislead voters into thinking he was U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran. That, too, is absolutely false.
I am thankful for all the volunteers who have made this a true grassroots campaign. There is absolutely no reason for my friends and supporters to be accused and subjected to this type of treatment for their efforts.
Voters and citizens deserve better. I will continue my campaign about issues that matter to the citizens of District 25, and will keep working until Aug. 23.
