CL – Gubernatorial foes stick to script

PHILADELPHIA -Taking the stage at the Neshoba County Fair on Thursday, Republican gubernatorial candidate Phil Bryant appeared to be confident that he will win the election.

“This victory begins here,” he told a crowd of cheering supporters.

With less than a week until Tuesday’s primary, the fair gave Bryant – the apparent frontrunner in the race – and other candidates one more opportunity to reach potential voters, but none of the candidates deviated drastically from their standard stump speeches.

“Mississippi is going to lead the way,” Bryant said while touting his message of job creation and economic development.
