Palazzo advocates more drilling to lower gas prices
HATTIESBURG, MS. (WDAM) – A spike in gas prices is hurting everyone’s wallet and the increase is also pushing up the cost of other goods in South Mississippi. Congressman Steven Palazzo said the solution to this problem is to open U.S. waters up to more drilling.
Palazzo spoke out about this issue during a visit to Southern Miss on Tuesday. He said President Obama should end what is essentially a ban on new off shore drilling by the administration’s refusal to issue shallow and deep water drilling permits.
The Congressman said because of these actions, jobs with oil companies have moved to other country’s like Brazil, Africa and even Egypt. Palazzo explained that thousand of folks along the Gulf Coast are now out of work because their jobs moved overseas.
