Next Gov. will pick most of College Board
Mississippi’s next governor will name eight of the 12 members of state College Board.
And if re-elected in 2015, he will fill the remaining four spots, giving him a rare chance to handpick the entire board that oversees the state’s eight public universities.
Eleven men are vying for the governor’s post, and with the upcoming turnover on the College Board, leaders say the victor will have a major impact on the universities’ futures.
