Obama coming to Miss., meeting with Barbour and wife
PASCAGOULA, Miss. — Gov. Haley Barbour said Tuesday that President Barack Obama will be in Mississippi next week and he and his wife, Marsha, will welcome the presidential visit.
“We look forward to having him,” Barbour said. “We’re not sure yet if it will be Monday or Tuesday.”
The White House stated Obama would travel Monday and Tuesday to Mississippi, Alabama and Florida — the three states with shores, marshlands and economies being affected by the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history — the Gulf oil spill.
