Charles Barkley shuts up; now, can he be honest with himself?
Charles Barkley is going to do the unthinkable.
He’s going to shut up.
He’s taking a leave of absence from his spot on TNT’s Inside the NBA in the wake of his Dec. 31 drunk-driving arrest in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Forced or not, that’s a good first step.
Now all he has to do is sober up and grow up.
That won’t happen until he’s as honest about himself as he is about everyone else, until his keen eye for hypocrisy stops going all blurry when he looks in the mirror.
