By: Magnolia Tribune - November 24, 2008

The Clarion-Ledger, 11/22/8

Jackson Mayor Frank Melton was released from the hospital today.

“He is recovering well and appears to be in good spirits,” said the mayor’s spokeswoman, Goldia Revies. She did not know if the mayor will be back at work on Monday.

Melton was admitted to St. Dominic Hospital on Tuesday and underwent surgery. He named City Councilman Charles Tillman as acting mayor during his recovery.

The reason for Melton’s hospitalization has not been confirmed by his staff.
