Season in Review: Grading SEC Baseball
Georgia carried the SEC torch in 2008.
Vanderbilt and South Carolina began the season as the favorites to carry the conference into the postseason, but the Bulldogs won the SEC regular season crown and played Fresno State for the national title.
LSU and Florida also earned great grades, while Alabama, Kentucky and Arkansas earned satisfactory grades.
We grade the Southeastern Conference.

Here’s how our grading system is divided: A = Exceeded expectations, B = Had a satisfactory season, C = Unsatisfactory, D = Far from meeting expectations, F = Had a season to forget
GEORGIA
The Bulldogs had a season to remember. Georgia started the season with high hopes. And though they failed to impress in early non-conference play, the Bulldogs stormed through conference play and won the SEC regular season crown. The Bulldogs then took care of business in the postseason and reached the CWS championship series.
GRADE: A
LSU
After a rocky first year for coach Paul Mainieri and the Tigers, the tide finally turned in 2008. The Tigers didn’t begin SEC play in positive fashion, but won 23-straight games and the SEC Tournament title. The Tigers also made a habit of rallying late in games on the way to another College World Series appearance.
