NFL–Beat the Bushes for Saints Rushing Value
You know the top names. You know the whole story. You know the potency of the offense. Maybe that’s why you can barely help but draft the popular guy too early.
That team is the New Orleans Saints. That guy is Reggie Bush. That league is yours, where Bush is guaranteed to come off the board within the first two rounds. It might be time, however, to flip things upside down with the New Orleans running game.
It’s hard to really blame Bush. He didn’t anoint himself the potential savior of the Houston Texans. He didn’t make himself the biggest story of draft weekend 2006. He didn’t turn on the hype spout and then break the handle so that nobody could stop it. Heck, he even talked another guy into drafting him in that fantasy football commercial so that he could get Larry Johnson. If only people had gotten the hint.
After two seasons, Bush has yet to average even four yards per carry. Kevin Jones, LaMont Jordan and Ron Dayne gained more ground per attempt than the Saints superstar in 2007. He has just 14 career touchdowns, which is just two and three more than Greg Jennings and Dallas Clark scored last season, respectively.
