Ross Endorsed by Minutemen

By: Magnolia Tribune - March 6, 2008

On Wednesday, Jim Gilchrist, founder and president of the Minuteman Project, formally endorsed Charlie Ross for Mississippi’s Third Congressional District.

“The Minutemen project is one of the nation’s leading grassroots organizations focusing on the issue of immigration and border security. I am proud to count the project’s founder, Jim Gilchrist, as one of my many endorsements in this important Republican primary,” said Ross. “I am proud to say that I was able to work towards common-sense solutions to this issue in my eleven years in the state legislature. My past work includes legislation requiring employers to withhold taxes on any person who can not document their citizenship. This ensures that everyone pays their fair share. I also co-authored legislation requiring that all labor in government contracts be performed by U.S. Citizens.”

Jim Gilchrist focused on Ross’ efforts in the Mississippi Legislature when making his endorsement. He said, “With his proven record of proactive efforts to work on behalf of the taxpayers of Mississippi, Charlie Ross is exactly the leader we need in Congress to end the chaos of illegal immigration.”

The election is on Tuesday, March 11, just six days away. I need every citizen who cares about this important issue to go to the polls and vote for Charlie Ross.”

Charlie has already received the endorsements of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors – Mississippi, the Homebuilders Association of Mississippi, the Mississippi Associated Builders and Contractors, the Mississippi Hospitality and Restaurant Association, and the Club for Growth. He is the only candidate with an A+ rating from the National Rifle Association.
