Some thoughts on clearing and rebuilding
So whatever else may come of this civic cataclysm for Mississippi, when y’all go to repair the damage, you’re going to have to tear some of the rubble right down to the ground, haul it far away and bury it deep, pour a new slab, and construct impermeable new walls to keep the possibility of this ever repeating itself firmly outside your dwelling-place.
Because if you don’t, your house will never be worth living in, no matter what color you paint it.
