Candidate removes star from logo after Dallas Cowboys complaint

By: Magnolia Tribune - October 16, 2007

KLTV, 10/15/7

Mississippi attorney general candidate Al Hopkins has removed a blue star from the top of his Web site.

That’s after lawyers for the Dallas Cowboys contacted his campaign several days ago.

Hopkins’ campaign manager Michael Luethy says the star that appeared at the top of the site was removed as a good-faith gesture. He says the Cowboys didn’t threaten legal action and never sent a letter formally requesting the logo’s removal.
