Attorneys on both sides expect a jury to render a verdict today in the civil damages trial of Mayor Frank Melton.
Attorneys for former Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics agent Robert Earl Pierce and current MBN agent Jimmy Saxton rested their case Thursday. The pair sued Melton for damages they say they suffered when he released an internal MBN memo to the news media in 2003 that implicated them in alleged wrongdoing.
