Brown, Carr reject Stamps’ call to allow SNAP benefits to be used to pay water bills

Central District PSC Commissioner De'Keither Stamps said he will continue to push for the idea by writing a letter to Governor Tate Reeves (R) to seek his support. Such a change would require federal action.

Mississippi middle of the pack in State Tax Competitiveness Index

The Tax Foundation's Index compares each state on more than 150 variables in the five major areas of taxation. Mississippi benefits from a low, flat individual income tax rate and a relatively low corporate income tax rate.
