Former land commissioner credited with eliminating own elective office
WMCTV, 8/13/7 In 1976, there were 10 statewide elected officials in Mississippi. Now, there are eight. It could be argued the elimination of 2 statewide offices is governmental reorganization in the extreme. Yet, governmental reorganization has not come easily in Mississippi.
