Hinds County election commissioners on Tuesday granted veteran Jackson-area lawmaker John Reeves a revote in four precincts where voting irregularities occurred during the Nov. 6 general election.
The commission’s 4-1 decision represented a partial victory for Reeves, a Republican who lost the District 71 seat to Democrat Adrienne Wooten. He also had requested a revote in three other precincts overseen by a Democratic commission member.
“The partial relief granted by the commission is appreciated,” Reeves’ attorney, Bill Spell, said. “We will review the commission’s order to determine if further action is appropriate.”
