Honor Flight meeting draws crowd on Gulf Coast

Honor Flight meeting draws crowd on Gulf Coast GULFPORT, Mississippi -- Organizers of Mississippi Gulf Coast Honor Flight were encouraged by the turnout of about 40 people Thursday night at Vintage Station on Courthouse Road. "People are excited about," she said. "They are excited that Mississippi is going to have that opportunity and they want to be part of it. There are not many of them (World War II veterans) left. So, it is now or never." Honor Flight organizes free, one-day trips for World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit the World II Memorial and other sites. Gulf Live 1/14/10
