The College World Series opens in Omaha, Nebraska, on Friday with Troy and West Virginia squaring off in a matchup of first-time participants. Mississippi and North Carolina meet in the second game. The first-round games Saturday pit Oklahoma against Alabama and Texas against Georgia.

Amarr Knox, Shawn Fulcher, Corey Hines and Tony Madlock were alleged to have engaged in game manipulation when Alabama State played at Southern Mississippi on Dec. 5, 2024. Southern Miss was a six-point favorite and won 81-64.
