Tide signs $30 million extension with Nike
With the seven-year extension projected to net more than $4 million annually for UA, the new UA deal ranks as the largest yet awarded by Nike and, according to available figures for public institutions, is the second largest deal (on an annual basis) in intercollegiate athletics.
North Carolina currently has a 10-year deal with Nike that pays UNC approximately $33.7 million. The new Alabama extension will pay the Crimson Tide at a higher annual rate — over $4 million per year — over the next seven years.
