Football part of the healing process for Oak Grove’s Steve McNair Jr.

Football part of the healing process for Oak Grove’s Steve McNair Jr.

OAK GROVE – The father would have been watching the son play the first game of his senior season this Friday night.

You know he would have been there, just like he was for every game last fall, watching from the sideline.
But tragedy struck in July, so on an August day last week it was the son admiring the father.
Steve McNair Jr. sat in the Hattiesburg office of Bus Cook, who was the agent for Steve McNair Sr. during his playing days with the NFL’s Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens. Cook popped in a tape, showing highlights from the early 1990s, when Steve “Air” McNair made one dazzling play after another for Mount Olive and Alcorn State.
