Three of the state’s top basketball players are expected to make their college choices official as the spring signing period begins today.

Madison Central guard Jeremy Adams plans to sign with Texas A&M, Callaway guard Julysses Nobles is set to sign with Arkansas and Greenville-Weston’s Robert Williams is headed to UAB.

Adams is ranked as the state’s No. 2 prospect in the Class of 2009 by HoopScooponline, a national recruiting site. Nobles is ranked fourth and Williams seventh by the same source.

The state’s top-rated prospect, Noxubee County forward Shaunessy Smith, signed with Mississippi State last November.

MSU, Ole Miss and Southern Miss aren’t expected to announce any signees today, but all three programs are on the lookout for at least one post player before the spring signing period ends May 20.
