McDaniel sees #ALSen race as an “anomaly,” leaning toward #MSSen run

By: Magnolia Tribune - December 14, 2017

McDaniel says Alabama election results not factor in whether he challenges Wicker

“The Alabama race was an anomaly,” McDaniel said Wednesday. “The allegations (against Moore) were so troublesome that it changed the entire trajectory of the race.”…

…He said because of Wicker’s record of advocating for a new state flag without the controversial Confederate battle emblem, his “blind loyalty” to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and because of his voting record, “I’m leading toward the U.S. Senate race. But I’m not ready to make an announcement just yet.”

“We are in a changing political environment, so it’s important to me that I not only make the right decision, but also that I announce at the right time,” McDaniel said. “I’m going to take a few days off, spend time with my family, hug my two sons, enjoy Christmas and then make an announcement – one way or the other – in January.”
