Hobnob 17: Bryant, Reeves tout education improvement; Hood critical of Legislature
Hood renewed his criticism of inaction by the Legislature on approving a highway and bridge improvement funding plan. He was also critical of lawmakers for not approving a lottery for education and an internet sales tax bill.
After Hood’s speech, retired state Sen. Giles Ward said, “I think we just heard a political stump speech.”
There is speculation that Hood, a Democrat, and Reeves, a Republican, could square off in a race for governor in 2019.
