Mississippi shoppers gearing up for Tax-Free Weekend
Certain clothing and shoe items totaling under $100 dollars will be free from the 7 percent tax levied by the state. The holiday weekend begins at 12:01 Friday and ends at midnight Saturday, July 29.
The following items will be tax-exempt for the shopping holiday:
• Clothing and Footwear: including coats, school uniforms, shoes, hats & general apparel. Must be $100 or less per item – excludes jewelry, purses, luggage, wallets, backpacks, skates, skis, and sports equipment.
• Accessories will not be tax exempt
