MS Dept. of Education releases 3rd-grade reading assessment results
The Mississippi Department of Education on Thursday released the 2016-2017 results for the 3rd-Grade MAP ELA Assessment.
The Literacy-Based Promotion Act requires third-graders to pass a reading assessment to demonstrate they are ready for fourth-grade reading instruction.
Across the state, 92 percent of third-graders passed the test.
In the 2014-2015 school year, 85 percent passed the test. During the 2015-2016 school year, 87 percent passed the test.
