Washington, DC- Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-04) issued the following statement following his selection as Vice Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee’s Subcommittee on Homeland Security:
“I have spent my entire congressional career focused on making sure that Americans are safe both at home and abroad. I consider it a great honor to be named Vice Chair of this incredibly important committee overseeing the entire DHS budget. With the leadership of our chairman, along with a President committed to the safety and security of our citizens and our borders, I am confident we are going to do great things in the 115th Congress.”
House Appropriations Committee Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen said, “Congressman Palazzo has proven himself as a leader on the Appropriations Committee and in Congress and I cannot think of anyone better suited to serve as the vice chair of this very important subcommittee. As we make tough decisions in the coming year about how we will fund the president’s homeland security agenda, it is important we have people like Steven in a position of leadership on our Committee.”
