Hattiesburg mayor apologizes for snatching camera
Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree is apologizing after trying to snatch a camera Friday from a blogger who’s long been critical of DuPree.
The longtime mayor says he “acted in a way that was the wrong way, and I apologize.”
DuPree tells WDAM-TV that he should have walked away instead of grabbing the phone from Tom Garmon, who operates the Hattiesburg Patriot website. Garmon has alleged that DuPree’s administration is incompetent and corrupt.
