Former Mississippi trooper suing state
Patrick Boyd filed a lawsuit against the Mississippi Highway Patrol last Wednesday in federal court, according to media reports. Boyd was a member of MHP Troop H in Meridian.
Boyd was fired after a speeding accident, but he alleges similar violations by other troopers did not result in disciplinary action. Boyd, who is white, added that less qualified African American troopers were promoted over him and he was fired after sharing his concerns about it in an email.
