Jackson County Supervisors ask SRHS trustees to step down
The Jackson County Board of Supervisors on Monday unanimously approved a resolution asking for the resignation of the eight remaining members of the Singing River Health System’s board of trustees.
Morris Strickland, one of the trustees, already stepped down because he was resident of Biloxi. State law requires that trustees be “adult residents” of Jackson County. Supervisor John McKay appointed Strickland.
Supervisor Mike Mangum introduced the resolution.
Mangum said he thinks current trustees will “tender their resignations soon.” Meanwhile, he said, supervisors will be “diligently” working to find the “right” people to appoint to those five-year positions.
